I Met someone today in person after many years of knowing of them and she mentioned "I had fibro, but I dont have it anymore, I got over it." She has numerous other things going on but I am wondering if she has just been lucky enough to not have had the flares and pain long enough that she thinks she no longer has it, or just that maybe she was misdiagnosed and it is her other issues . . . anyway, Just thought I would ask the communities thoughts on it.... No. I don't think it is possible. Fibro is not a "cold" or "virus" you get over. I don't understand. I think maybe the person is ill informed or misdiagnosed. Living with fibro myself makes me really wonder about that comment. Fibro isn't something you just "get over". It just bothers me. .
Never met anyone who got over for good. They tell me that a good detox and cure you. You know that footbath detox a few of those can bring you close to being cured. I want to get one of those and try. I surely will let everyone know the results.
My rheumatologist said he has had one patient get over it and that was by exercising 6 to 8 hours a day and on a very strict diet. He was marathon training. And he has to keep it up to stay well. But...how on earth could you train for that long every day? And if you were cured you wouldn't have to keep on doing it so....I don't know.
I had it in my twenties and then it came back last June after an accident. I have to say this time I have more debilitating symptoms. In my younger days it didn't seem so severe. I think you always have it, but it comes back when your stress level is high.
No. It is not like a cold. No way it was fibro.
