A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just read this... Link below from January 2016 medical magazine

Just to give you the heads up for anyone in UK taking these drugs... Doctors might be starting to tightening up on prescription for these if it happens

@A MyFibroTeam Member.... the thing is, he seemed to be an advocate of natural remedies and that sort of thing. And, I'm not in a lot of pain and I guess that may puzzle many doctors and a few Fibro sufferers. I do suffer from several other Fibro symptoms, though and have some flare ups now and then. I also have my limitations.
No... he figured if I have fibromyalgia I had no business not being on a drug. He tried to suggest , strongly ,several differerent drugs. I asked him to refer me to someone I could talk to about Fibro and the limitations and what not. He reffered me to a Mental Health councillor . I felt so misunderstood !
She was a darling ,but we only spoke 3 times before she said I was fine and that was that !
Hmmmmmm.... Yeah we get shuffled aside !!!!
Only ones who understand me seem to be right here on this site. No doctors or so called specialists ,but I tell you guys, you are all specialists ! Because you have dealt with what this Fibromyalgia is and you all know what it does to you and how you deal with it. We lift each other up !
Yes, we educate ourselves. Yay for those of us who do so !!!! Thank you for lending your ear !

Hi hun ..
Very interesting article. I was on them and got off in a matter of 4 month I found they made me worse. The side effects were horrible and I fell into a deeper depression. my Dr. got me off them I felt swollen and I could not think.. my mind was a cloud.
I feel much better of them I do think that everyone is different and that some side affects can be le less that what we are feeling not in my case.

Thank you for taking the time to post this info...

xxoo Have a great pain free day : )

Thank you all for your responses, this is why I love this site & why I'm so glad I found it. You can feel at your rock bottom lowest, put a post on here & you get lots of words of support & hugs etc. Even tho the hugs aren't real, they're definitely felt & 100% needed. I know I've not met any of you on here but it's amazing how close you can feel to someone!

Hope everyone has a great weekend & thoughts & hugs to you all. X

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member Dr. not all but do not help with natural health meds we have to study on that ourselves... some Dr. are great with it but for the most part they do not help with that.
Also many studies have been done but no conclusive answers..... they are coming to the understanding somewhat.
so the Dr. easy way to treat a person that is in so much pain is to remove this pain...
Then it becomes our choice to take them or not and find out what the benefits are and what the negatives are, and weigh the pros and cons.
all meds have chemicals but when suffering as much as some do we need them.it is not easy to be in pain all the time. as you know.
No one should ever feel guilty about taking meds for some it is a means to survive. everyone has different pain tolerance..
So our Dr. just want to calm our pain...
xxoo hope you find your resolve soon
have a pain free day !!
