I'm reading a lot about elimination diets and food triggers. For me personally (based on fibro, diabetes, IBS, and IC sources) I've found that I should eliminate the following: sugar, aspertame, caffeine, coffee, tea, citrus/citric acid, MSG, gluten, and dairy. Doesn't leave much, does it? Anyway, my question is since Stevia is organic (in the raw), shouldn't it be ok for me to still use it? Sure would make my life easier (or at least sweeter). Thanks for all answers.

The dietitian told me that Stevia is the best one to use because it's a plant be sugar. And it's real where all the others are chemically modified.
http://www.livescience.com/39601-stevia-facts-s... This is a good question.. I only went to two sites but this one I think you will like .. Now to add my common sense approach as well.. I myself have given up adding sugar .. like sweet potatoes.. but I let it go I put brown sugar and butter and cinnamon.. that's my candied dessert.. but now I can eat it just as is.. I've had to cut way back on my black coffee .. no sugar or cream just black but it was associated for me with eating sweets.. so I need to break that association.. I drink coffee when I really need it meaning I need to stay awake because I have things to do.. which is maybe one or twice a week compared to everyday.. I'm not saying anything bad about stevia just use common sense and pay attention to your body.. but so far it looks like stevia has the green light for diabetics type 2 .. I hope I wasn't too long answering this.. I can't wait to see what other folks write...
if you have ragweed allergy it might bother you.
Avoid in individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to stevia or the daisy family (Asteraceae/Compositae). Other members of the daisy family include ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, and many other herbs.
Stivia is great! I also like palm sugar (also known as coconut sugar) it's has a low glycemic index and tastes great. Bananas are great for providing sweetness and valuable potassium and fibre. All in moderation of course.
I do not use sugar substitutes because I found a little real sugar is better then the weight gain I get with artificial sweeteners so I either go without sugar or just a bit of real sugar if I need it over the substitutes
