I've had breathing problems for around two and a half years, it feels as though I have a constant tight band around my chest and experience panic attack type symptoms and have to yawn to be able to catch my breath, I'm constantly exhausted with this and I'm fed up of waiting for the doctors to figure things out. The only medication I've taken that eases the symptoms is diazepam but obviously doctors don't prescribe that too often so I'm stuck
So my question or questions are does anybody else… read more
Have you had your iron levels checked recently? You could be deficient in that, it can cause symptoms you have described.
Thanks guys, no asthma or copd and I've been to various doctors and specialists over the last two years, no luck as of yet but just had a spirometry test done at the hospital (she said second test was low whatever that means) and just waiting to see specialist again with results.
Kris I was actually just reading about costrocondritis and also tietze syndrome, from what I read those are inflammatory type problems and I take Naproxen 500mg twice a day so I think those could probably be ruled out, although I do think it may be something along those lines ie a problem with the cartilage around/between my ribs.
I'll have to wait and see in a few months what the specialist says.
Thanks for your help x
Is it anxiety? I used to get that a lot when I suffered with anxiety and panic attacks. I went on to a site called The Human Givens Institute and discovered a great book about how to deal with anxiety and panic and it's helped me stop those symptoms. I now don't have panic, anxiety or breathing issues. Also meditation helps calm the mind and breathing. Good luck.
Have you done a sleep study? I've done 2 times this yr. I've found that my blood oxygen drops to dangerous levels. I feel some of you symptoms too.... I'm on oxygen, at night with a bipap. It's still dropping so now I see a pulmonary. Dr. Friday. I'm concerned, it's been since July, I found this out. It's Dec and I still don't know what's wrong. Please ask you Dr for a sleep study. Best luck to you!
I'm waiting for my breathing test results to come back of course I asked the gentleman whom was taking the test what he sees . He said he sees I'm having problems such as breathing but the inhaler seems to work .. yet he does not have any right to read the results so I have to wait. Grrr.
