Members shared the frustrating challenge of finding doctors in Roanoke, Virginia willing to treat fibromyalgia, with several noting that both rheumatologists and pain management specialists in the area have stopped accepting fibro patients. Many members expressed the belief that doctors avoid treating fibromyalgia because they don't fully understand it or know its root cause, making it difficult to provide effective care. A recurring theme was the sense of being left without medical support, with multiple members searching for new providers and hoping for updated recommendations in the Roanoke and surrounding areas.

I know this is an old thread but I’m desperately searching for doctors for these issues in Roanoke. My rheumatologist retired and I’m incredibly unhappy with the doctor I was referred to.

I think that Dr's don't want to treat fibro because they don't know how. How can they know how if they don't know the root cause.
