Members described the difference between daily pain and flare-ups in response to someone wondering how to recognize a flare when pain is constant, with the overwhelming consensus being that flares feel like an entirely different experience where pain intensifies dramatically and spreads throughout the entire body. Several members shared vivid descriptions of flare symptoms, including extreme skin sensitivity where clothing feels like sandpaper, overwhelming fatigue that makes getting out of bed nearly impossible, flu-like symptoms with feverish sensations, heightened sensitivity to light and sound, and sharp shooting or electric pain that can bring someone to tears or the floor. A recurring theme was the importance of trusting yourself to know your own body, recognizing that while daily pain may hover at a manageable level, a flare amplifies everything by what feels like thousands of percent and often requires complete rest to recover.

I have 2 types of pain. Achey pain and sharp shooting pain. I am ALWAYS achey, I have learned to function through my everyday life on achey pain. When I get a flare I will sometimes just fall to the floor, or not be able to breath because the pain is so bad. The pain is like aweful electricity through a certain part of my body

I ache everyday but a flare for me is really bad headache, hives, red hot feeling, joint pain, dry mouth, really painful dry eyes,. The worst is my skin feels like a my skin from top to toe was a blister and its popped and the raw skin underneath is the pain I feel. My partner touches me and I feel like electric shocks and a knife digging into my muscle it so sensitive. I sometimes wake up with this painful condition and fight for my pain killers before I can do anything.
But that's life and you have to keep going. Fight through the fog and everything that comes with itx X X
Times were I carnt comb my hair coz to painful and even really hard to get dressed I feel so weak.
It is deffo a fight. It's not going to control me accepting it is moving on and living with it with adapting.
