I have the worst vertigo or whatever the heck it's called. If I'm laying down and go to a sitting potion I get super dizzy and my vision slowly fades, if I go sitting to standing I have all the same symptoms plus ringing in my ears and increased heart rate. I get very slowly and wait a few minutes before walking. I've had this since I was 14. My dad told me he had it at my age and that I would grow out of it but I'm 21 now and I haven't. I would actually have a syncope episode and completely… read more

You should definitely see your family dr who will refer you to an ear, nose & throat specialist. My dad had vertigo. He was laid up for over 2 weeks, there are crystals in your inner ear that can come loose & that is what causes the vertigo. They will give you meds & exercises to do. They can definitely help you & make your life better.

Do you take any drugs? Sometimes drugs are our worst enemy. You may think it's fibro but a side effect of a drug. I had to get off all of them and it was hard.

I do get episodes of dizziness, but not as much as I used to. Since medications have changed and nothing adversely interacts the problem has considerably been corrected. In your case, I'd say finding a dr. to test and test and test until you find an answer is the right/only thing to do. Sometimes you need to get pushy or aggressive with drs. I hope you don't have to do that. This sounds serious to me. I hope it's not, and that you find a solution quickly and easily! Prayers!

Yes, please check POTS. I am not nearly as bad as you darlin' but I get some pretty big blood pressure drops and can feel quite faint. That's a different thing from vertigo or just dizziness and you can be checked for it - and for vertigo. There are medications and natural means that can improve your blood pressure, and there are also some treatments for vertigo so it might be worth a trip to the dr. Some drug stores in Canada will rent you a blood pressure monitor.

Here's a great site on POTS:
