Just wondering if anyone suffers with Vertigo? Around the same time I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, about 8 months ago, I started having horrible vertigo. I have very few days where I don't have it. I have tried Meclizine, which works on days when it isn't too bad, other days I am taking ativan or diazepan, which seem to be the only ones that stop the dizziness for at least a few hours so that I can go out and run errands, and of course either promethezine or zofran for the nausea that comes… read more

Members shared their experiences with vertigo alongside fibromyalgia, describing debilitating symptoms ranging from room-spinning dizziness to having to crawl upstairs, with many finding that medications like Meclizine often stop working over time. Several members offered practical strategies including the Epley Maneuver (a head-positioning technique for BPPV), wearing sunglasses to manage light sensitivity, physical therapy exercises, and medications like betahistine dihydrochloride, though effectiveness varied widely from person to person. A recurring theme was the unpredictability and frustration of living with chronic vertigo, balanced by creative coping mechanisms like one member who taught children at work to sing songs during episodes, and the shared understanding that some days are simply 'grounded days' when it's too dangerous to do anything but rest.

Vertigo, yes I had it bad. I was sent to therapy, they have excersizes for the neck and balance.

Sorry to hear that. But the singing sounds great. I will have to try that for sure.

My tinnitus doesn't bother me often when it flares it takes a while to get use to the level again but once use to it again it's ok. Vertigo is annoying because it is so unpredictable, you never know when it will strike and how bad it will be when it does. Last year when I was bad my eyes would flicker and I had to shut them otherwise I scared the children I work with, they would understand and sit with me and hold my hands while I shut my eyes, and we would sing songs while I recovered. We taught them that I was poorly when it happened but I was ok and singing songs made it go away and made me better x

I have excerices to do to help my vertigo but I don't feel like they do help at all. They can be found only it's all about turning your head to the side and holding it there for so long and the tiling it back for so long x
