Members discussed their experiences with essential oils and medical marijuana for managing fibromyalgia symptoms, with several sharing that peppermint oil helped with neck tension and headaches, while lavender promoted relaxation and sleep. Many community members described medical marijuana and CBD products as effective alternatives to opioid pain medications, with some explaining the difference between THC and cannabidiol (the non-intoxicating component), and sharing various forms like gummies, tinctures, and edibles that helped with pain, muscle tension, and insomnia. A recurring theme was the desire to find natural pain relief options beyond traditional medications, balanced with practical advice about state-by-state legality, proper medical guidance, and realistic expectations about what works for different individuals.

You will find medical marijuanna to be a Godsend! Montel Williams is correct. When it is finally legalized everyone will see that it eases pain, loosens muscles and gives you the feeling of wanting to move and stretch. I highly recommend it for people in those states where it's legal.

I live in Oregon where medical Marijuana is legal. Medical Marijuana is the same as what is illegal in most states. When you are talking about the gummies you are talking about the edibles which consist of many different candies, ice cream, pizza, cake, and the list goes on. There is also tinctures that you can use. It depends on what kind you like as to if it has THC in it or not. I have a friend who uses medical marijuana and it truly has saved her life. She has several autoimmune diseases, including fibro and has had cancer. She smokes it, uses edibles and tincture. For the cancer she uses RSO which is the only form of Marijuana that is know to cure cancer, she has been cancer free for 6 months. She would tell you that it has helped her tremendously.

Ahh, so by medical marijuana I think you mean Cannibinidol-based items. Cannibinidol is a cannabinoid (very similiar to it's more famous cousin THC) that is a great for pain and insomnia and doesn't get you high in the same way. It's a great way to treat pain but still be functional.

I know, it's confusing as can be! Some states have medical marijuana laws that allow for oils/pills/edibles that only contain cannibinidol, as it helps with otherwise intractable seizures in children, while other states allow various levels and types of consumption of the whole marijuana plant.

The actual scientific data on essential oils is lacking in general. So, I have a really hard time recommending them in general, on that basis. That said, there are few individual oils that may have some benefit beyond their (oftentimes wonderful) smells. Peppermint is great applied to the temples and neck for tension headaches, and for upset stomachs. I like falling asleep with Lavender on my pillow.

As far as medical marijuana, I'm a big believer in it. It's a great replacement for opioid medications without anywhere near the terrible side effects.
