Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing joints that lock up and pop when movement resumes, most commonly in the shoulders, hips, knees, hands, and elbows, with many describing the sensation as breaking through stiffness that is especially pronounced after sleep or rest periods. Several members shared that the popping itself often brings relief from soreness, though the locking sensation can be startling and uncomfortable, with one member explaining it may be caused by natural gas buildup that people with chronic conditions feel more acutely. A recurring theme was the widespread nature of this symptom across different joints and conditions, with members finding solidarity in knowing they are not alone in this painful and often frustrating experience.

Yes mine do that all the time! It feels like they lock up and then I'm breaking them to be able to move.

Yes I have that with my hip and knee. It hurts and I am not sure what is going on. Seeing my orthopedic doctor in April. Maybe I will get some answers then.

Yes I have the same thing. I was tested for hypermobilty to see if I was double jointed because it's so frequent but I was told it's just a build up of natural gases, nitrogen I think that makes a sound when it moves. I think because we feel it much more than the average person we worry it's something more. Apparently it's normal but we feel it as abnormal.
