A week and a half ago I woke up 3-4 times a night, 2 nights in a row, with my body jerking. My whole body would literally jerk and wake me up. Is this normal?

Members shared their experiences with nighttime body jerks and muscle movements, with many identifying the symptoms as restless leg syndrome (RLS), which commonly occurs alongside fibromyalgia and can happen both day and night. Several members found relief through medications like Mirapex and Topamax, while others suggested natural supplements as alternatives, limiting caffeine intake, and managing stress levels to reduce the frequency and severity of episodes. A recurring theme was the exhausting physical and emotional toll these involuntary movements take, disrupting sleep quality for both the person experiencing them and their sleep partners, with many members emphasizing the importance of working with a doctor to find the right treatment approach.

I have RLS. My body has tremors regularly. The fibro makes everything worse. Fibro enhances and makes anything wrong - 10 times worse.

I used to kick in my sleep so bad that I'd kick my cat off the bed!! I'd wake up and she is just sitting on the floor glaring at me. My doctor prescribed Miripex for me and as soon as I get those jerks/bugs crawling feeling under my skin.

I've had that. A doctor told me it was hypnagogic jerks. I've found that limiting my caffeine helps.
