Hello. In answer to your question yes, I was misdiagnosed and gained 69 lbs. When finally got proper diagnosis of heart problem I had to quit smoking and loose the weight. I read everything I could find on dieting and discovered it is a high money making business with not much success so I made my own and in 6 months had lost almost all the weight. 65 lbs. It's really just being aware of what you are eating. I couldn't afford any of the "fad" diets. If you are interested feel re to email me anytime. Hi, i have picked up so much weight. I am with a new dr now and he did some blood tests that showed i have problems with my gut and thyroid. After changing my diet and meds for thyroid i am losing weight.

I really have to monitor my weight-cutting down on portions -we use salad plates and very little dessert-I make a big salad in my salad spinner and have a soup dish of salad and small portions of other food-usually eat a late breakfast and no lunch except a large mug of chocolate milk-warm and a small supper- I weight my self once a week and if not losing a pound then cut down more-be kind to yourself-because we can't exercise as others we can gain easily-keep snacks small-it is doable-and remember the holidays were not too long ago where we ate too much-losing 1 pound a week is good and actually better for. you

In 2011 I had severe abdominal pain which the doctors couldn't diagnose even with all the test possible so I was off work and laying down from February to September when a gynecologist finally decided to operate and find out what the problem was and did a full esterectomy and found endometriosis. In this time of sickness I gained over 50 lbs. About a year after I had more abdominal pain and they found that I had a hernia in the and the specialist wouldn't operate until I lost 50 lbs so I took it upon myself to lose the weight and also saw a dietitian at the hospital who gave me tips. It took about a year but I finally lost the 50 lbs by cutting eating 3 meals/day, cutting my portions, giving up sweets and junk (treating myself once a month) and walking every day. It worked for me and I finally got the operation. Good luck and keep the faith... slow but surely and don't give up it will happen.
