unless they have sent you forms to fill out, bring all the infromation you will need to fill out standard medical forms. They will want your doctors names, addresses and phone numbers. If possible have someone go with you to help with remembering what you are told and to remind you of issues you have if you forget to mention them.
I always take along a list of my medications, name brand and generic name, dosage and reason I take it. I also have a list of the medications I've had a reaction to. The date of the reaction and what the reaction was.
Third list is a list of all the conditions I have, Osteoartrithis, Fibromyalgia, etc.
Fourth is my health history including my parents health history and siblings health issues. You never know what they will ask about but those cover most of their queations.
Most important I think, is a list of the questions and problems that I am going to that doctor for. It helps me to not forget something important especially since when stressed my memory goes out the window.
What usually happens is that the doctor will conduct some tests and ask you some questions. He or She will do the tapping on your knees and elbows to see if you have the right responses. Sometimes they will have you stand with your eyes shut to see if you can without falling over. It really isn't too bad. Depends on the doctor. Just had a friend see a neurologist. She said he just asked her some questions and did some bloodwork. Who knows. Try not to stress.
Hope it goes well.
@A MyFibroTeam Member I'll never do that again! My times as a removal person have ended haha! xx
Hi please write down any questions you have for them plus good idea to take someone who understands your problems in with you.
