Members rallied around someone experiencing severe upper abdominal and rib pain, offering a wide range of possible explanations including gallbladder issues, costochondritis (inflammation of rib cartilage), digestive problems like diverticulitis or trapped gas, and medication side effects. Several members shared personal experiences with similar pain, describing strategies like hot showers for relief, avoiding trigger foods (spicy or yeasty items), and getting medical tests to rule out gallbladder or liver problems. The original poster ultimately needed emergency gallbladder surgery, prompting an outpouring of support and recognition from others who had been through the same painful ordeal.

I totally feel your pain, I didn't have any stones or anything but my gallbladder was functioning at 1% so it was basically dead. Funny that a organ doing nothing is so painful lol. I hope you're healing well, I had to have a blood transfusion and all kinds of crap after my emergency surgery πŸ˜• rest up and feel better.

Was it your gallbladder you needed to have taken out surgically? I went through gallbladder issues a few years ago and it's NO F***IN JOKE. I hope you're healing up well <3

Thank you all so much! I'm trying to read all of these now. I was brought to the hospital and admitted needing emergency surgery! Thank you all for your input!

Its no fun I get it , but i usually sit in the shower with very hot water on the left side shoulder and sometimes just the distraction of the water helps.
