Ss disability called me today and are setting me up to see their Dr, I need to know what to do or say while they check me out. I really need this to work out.
The doctor will be assessing your level of functionality revolving around your daily living skills. It is important that you share what you can an cannot do. It is important to share where the pain is and when and how it started. They will be evaluating the pain based on the various trigger points. Also, if you have suffered mental health issues like anxiety and depression - secondary to the chronic pain - then they will look at that as well. I just had my attorney file an appeal on my first denial. I have been told that I can expect a second denial before I go to a "fair" hearing. Each State is different as well. If I were living in Virginia I would have my disability - because we moved to Utah they are tougher and will fight you to the end - at least that is what my attorney informed me of. It is a good sign typically when SSD sets you up for an evaluation because they are looking to see if you meet the criteria for approval. Age, work history, and treatment history with consistency are also critical. I hope yours goes through. We are about flat broke since I have not been able to work since May of 2015. My poor husband has been borrowing from Peter to pay Paul lol - it is tough with just one income for sure. Praying for your appointment to go well.
@A MyFibroTeam Member You need to let them know what you are like at your worst, if you feel fine to day so what just remember the last time you felt like a walking Zombie and tell him/her about that. My GP told me that as he knows me well and has seen both sides of the scale so be honest always but tell them what it is like when you struggle. We all have good days but we don't have enough to see us through so we have more bad days and this is unfortunately our lives. Good luck Jim
Don't hold back on letting him know all your issues and what you can and cannot do, or if you have mental issues let him know, and don't be embarrassed about it , don't forget about your cognitive issue either, that's an important thing, because if you can't properly function it is going to be hard to work,
Hi. My suggestion is to keep a journal everyday. (I (know it's hard when you feel so crummy)It helps you to go back and remember when you need to. Besides knowing all the doctors comments.
Be truthful about what you can and cannot do. Tell the doctor how your symptoms affect all aspects of your daily living.
