does anyone else get these overwhelming spells of OMG i'm going to fall asleep - right here, right now. if i ever post answers or ask questions that are so off base, please promise to either ask me about it, ignore it, or try to decipher & we can compare notes another time.

for instance ... I totally just fell sound asleep as I was typing this. had to backspace over a whole lot of the letter "zzzz" but it could've been worse.

Members connected over the sudden, overwhelming fatigue that can strike without warning, sharing experiences of falling asleep mid-conversation, while driving, or at work, with many describing it as feeling like someone pulled their plug out. Several members offered practical strategies including listening to your body and taking short 20-minute mindful rests with earplugs, checking medication timing with a doctor to avoid daytime drowsiness, getting tested for sleep apnea or narcolepsy through a sleep study, and trying medications like Nuvigil to manage chronic fatigue. A recurring theme was the importance of advocating for proper testing and diagnosis, being cautious about driving when exhausted, and showing yourself grace when this invisible symptom disrupts daily life.

Hi there.yesi do as if someone pulled my plug out or taken my batteries out.I can't be in the middle of a conversation and can't remember what I was saying n just need to sleep. I found just shutting my eyes n using ear plugs for 20 mins does me OK. Apparently my M.E professional told me its mindful rest that's needed not physical rest.meaning no sight or hearing. Have you been diagnosed with M.E? If not get tested.

I started about a month ago but I actually don't take it every day even though he told me I could, he being my pain management doctor. It works quite well for me on the days that I am able to take it. If I'm having a super bad fibro day I don't think much of anything works

I have had that happen. I would be discussing serious stuff with my husband and just pass straight out, like someone shut the main power grid off. Had issues like this all my life. Found out I have narcolepsy after having a sleep study done. I passed out at the wheel with my daughter in the car going through a construction zone. That's when I called my pc and demanded a sleep study.

Have you thought about getting tested for sleep apnea because it sounded like me before I was diagnosed with sleep apnea I would just fall asleep at the drop of a hat annd often
