Members shared deeply relatable experiences with fibromyalgia fatigue, describing the constant struggle to stay awake and function through exhaustion that feels like going in and out of consciousness. Several members offered practical strategies that have helped them, including establishing consistent sleep routines, taking short rest breaks in dark rooms without distractions, drinking plenty of water throughout the day, starting gentle exercise or walking despite the difficulty, considering sleep studies for potential sleep apnea, taking B-12 and magnesium supplements, and using TENS machines for pain management. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body while also gently pushing through with movement, maintaining a healthy diet with protein-based snacks instead of sugar, and working closely with doctors to adjust medications that might be contributing to the fatigue.

I still struggle with this however I started taking Elavil at night helped me sleep through the night the down side of this was I started gaining lots of weight and mornings seemed to be more painful so I decided to stick to a sleep routine going to bed at 10pm and waking up at 6am. During the day I'll lay in my bed with no distrations clearing my mind. I really feel it helps to beat the Fatigue. Also drinking lots and lots of water! Stay away from coffee this was so hard for me but I realized it was just making me more exhausted during the day. Try to keep a healthy diet, I keep sticky notes on my fridge reminding me to drink water or eat a fruit instead of binge eating, on my front door another one saying "dont forget to walk for 20-30 minutes. " Find something that really works to boost your energy and stick to it. Wish you well. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

I am taking CLA (super Strength) Conjugated linoleic acid. It is natural and has no caffeine but you cannot take it before bed. You will be up all night
For slight loss of energy, I use energy drinks, sunflower seeds or gum....the repetitive movement of the sunflower seeds and gun help you stay awake.

It's exhausting being exhausted. Recently I've found that laying down in a dark room for 20/30 minutes with no distractions works better for me than if I was to have a nap. No idea why but it seems to charge my batteries. I've also been put on sleeping tablets at night which help me nod off at the aerial time every night. Apparently sleep routine helps.

Ask family if you snore. If so, ask your doctor for a sleep study. So many people don't realize they have this on top of their FM.

This is one of the hardest questions. Because we are either too tired to do anything or we have the strength to do it but not the energy. With me when I find that I am too exhausted I do what my body says and sleep. That seems to help some, but if it more of what you are describing that is when I go to my doctor to see what they say. It may be that your medication needs adjusting. My nutritionist gave me these suggestions. Cut out your bad carbs, get up and walk around when you feel the exhaustion creeping up on you, don't drink caffeine after 2 in the afternoon, get in your exercise, eat foods that gives you a natural energy like raspberries, oranges, almonds, things like that, and finally make it a routine when it comes to sleeping at night. Use your bed for sleeping only. And go to bed earlier then 10 pm. Hope these helps. Gentle hugs to you.
