Yes Yes Yes. I was told that your throat muscles sometimes gets a spasm and that is why you choke, especially if you drink sometime cold. I could be just sitting in the lounge, and start choking on my own spit. I was starting to think that my throat was starting to close up and I would not be able to breath. Now that I know it is quite common, I feel a little better. Gives people a fright though.
No I have not had a problem with chocking how ever sometimes I have a hard time breathing feel short of breath while even while at rest.
i agree with @A MyFibroTeam Member however mine got reallly bad and i had an EGD last week. i have an autoimmune condition as well called Eosinophillic Esophagitis...and its a spasm yet its caused from allergic reaction to a food...and can be tied in along with GERD.... its all too often undiagnosed..but my doctor saw the rings it causes in esophagus and did biopsies to confirm...i get to where food wont go up or down and saliva builds up and food pieces come back up after about a half hour....swelling of sternum...feels like heart attack at times...worth talking to your doctor about...for years they just though it was my fibro.. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/e...
Yes, I have esophageal spasms, common with fibro I have recently found out. Hurts like crap and scary as well
Yes I have this problem all of the time. I also read another one on here has the same problem. It's a stomach issue she said. Maybe go visit Gastrologist? I'm going to because it's terrible!
