Does anyone take Lyrica and Gabapentin together?

I could not take the Lyrica with the gabapentin. It made me very angry. I had to quit after 3 days even though the dr said that would wear off after a week or two. I was afraid I would hurt someone.

My doctor prescribed me both gabapentin and Lyrica. It helps a lot. I don't have any problem taking them at all.

I take either one or the other. Because my insurance provider wouldn't pay for Lyrica but would pay for Gabapentin, I take the Gabapentin daily and the Lyrica when a flare up gets bad.

I've taken both but not together. They are very similar in composition, so I don't understand why a dr would prescribe both at the same time. You're basically taking the same drug x 2.
