Lately I don't even think about food until later on in the evening. I know that is super bad for me and I have low blood sugar but I'm just not hungry til the evening. I'm just nauseous all day and the at night I'm not as nauseous and I eat.

Anyone else relate?

Members shared experiences of nausea and appetite loss related to fibromyalgia, with many noting it can stem from the condition itself, medications like Cymbalta and Lyrica, or a combination of both. Several members offered practical strategies including eating small frequent meals with protein and fiber to stabilize blood sugar, holding the nose while eating to minimize smell-triggered nausea, and using medical marijuana to stimulate appetite and reduce nausea when other approaches fail. A recurring theme was the importance of reviewing medication side effects with doctors, setting gentle reminders to eat even when not hungry, and recognizing that these struggles are shared widely within the fibromyalgia community.

I had to stop taking cymbalta and Lyrca because of the side effects. Nausea was one of them it was pretty severe. It didn't stop the weight gain tho which I also hated being on those. I also felt more foggy being on them. Right now with all the meds I'm on the only side effect I deal with is cotton mouth.

Yes!! That's why I smoke. It allows me to want to eat. Without it, I can go up to 2 days without eating from the nausea and pain.

Low blood sugar. Try eating more protein. If nauseated, try a sip of cola or oj and then eat protein and fiber. It helps level out blood sugar. Eat very small 6 meals a day. Kinda like snacking but on good stuff. Eggs, fish, chicken, beans, all protein, rice is good carb to go with it.

I am serious--try holding your nose when eating. Smell is a strong sense that effects how food will taste. Maybe if you can't smell it, it won't make you nauseated.
