I have no thyroid along with other medical problems, but my doctor has suggested for me to avoid getting out as much in the cold and flu seasons, but if need be, to use a face mask that covers my nose and mouth whenever I'm grocery shopping, or have to go to doctors office. Your doctors usually will (during cold and flu season) put face masks out on the counter tops free for anyone needing them...
Oh yes, my immune system was shot when I was diagnosed with fibro, CFS, hypothyroid 5 years ago. The advice in the book Medical Medium has helped me a lot.
Also, take vitamins, especially C, B12, D3 and stay hydrated. Flu season is scary, especially since we already feel like we have the hard flu everyday, all day! Use hand sanitizer and stay away from sickly people. Hope this helps! Blessings, Rebecca
