Has Anyone Out There Had Any Luck With Medical Marijuana?

A MyFibroTeam Member

Because I had not had any luck with conventional medicines for my fibro in the last 2 years, I'm wondering if any one out there has had luck with medical marijuana?

I have found leaf to be incredibly helpful though I've never tried oil. I can't take most prescription drugs due to sensitivity and allergies. None that I can take has helped. And then came medical marijuana. I can't take MM as often as I'd like due to cost (I can't work so my budget is severely limited) but it is amazing.

I use MM - I did a lot of research on it. I cannot tolerate the THC of MM but I do the highest dose of CBD. You will not get high with MM that is CBD. It is a miracle drug for me - I have been able to wean myself down the pharma drugs (the side effects were worse than the pain of fibro). CBD has given me so much relief! It doesn't take away all the pain or cure fibro but it certainly makes me feel like I am a contributing member of society again! LOL
Good luck!

I currently use medical marijuana for fibromyalgia arthritis depression and anxiety I also suffer from carpel tunnel kidney problems all kinds of underlying symptoms! In desperation I turned to mm because I was getting so sick on all the pills my rheumatologist scripted me total of 13 but is was so hard ! Mm works I never used it prior to being sick I was very against it but it works it's helped more than any other treatment right now . All my drs know I'm taking it along w muscle relaxer antidepressant and low dose steroid . The hard part about it is your tolerance will eventually go up and then we have to do what recreational users call a tolerance break and take couple weeks off it . I didn't need a tolerance break for two years so everyone is different I've done a lot of research i keep track of my usage i log everything bc I'm in a disability case and they know I'm using medical marijuana . God bless

I Live in Washington State where Marajuana is Legal. I have been using it to treat my Fibro and RLS and Diabetic for 3 years and I will have to say that the only way I can use it is to smoke it There are so many different ways edibles candy oils list goes on or if you do or you dont to want Thc or without CBD. I Use this so i can replace 2 of my 4 Dalaudid pills a day. I dont have to wait for the marajuana to take effect its usually instant pain releief where the pills take up to 1 hour and the pain gets so bad, That i cant wait for a hour. So what im trying to say is if you are in a area that this is legal , go into a shop and talk to the people they are very knowlegable about what would be best for you . Since I have used it I also no longer have my Diabetis...Which could also be helped from this,, I have All of my Dr's following me very close. I have to say my pain level is very high but when i use my Green Meds as I call it my life is a lot less painful.

I looked up the name of the marijuana doctor my neighbor gave me. It's $200. for the visit and the card so you can buy the "product". The 200. is for however many times you see her, so that's not bad. Then it's $100. annually after that.
You have to fill out a form and mail it to her. She looks it over and if she agrees to see you, get office contacts you. I'm going to fill it out as soon as I can get my medical records from my back surgeon.
I will let you all know what happens. At least I have info about the marijuana from the people here on our site that have so kindly shared. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Thanks to all for your honesty and candor. I have not yet received any cannibas as of yet. However my new doctor, who was kind enough to send me to a doctor who does perscribe cannibas ( she does not believe in it) and she is also sending me to a pain clinic. All this time (the last 2 years plus) my old doctor could have mad these suggestions but watched as my qualityvof life kept plummeting. Thanks everyone! 💖
