Members shared creative, medication-free strategies for managing migraines that ranged from drinking frozen slushies or iced coffee slowly through a straw to freeze the pain, to applying peppermint oil on the temples for relief. Several members emphasized the importance of caffeine, hydration, rest in a dark room, and cold packs, while also noting triggers like stress, teeth grinding, and hormonal changes that can bring on migraines. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error nature of finding what works, with members offering encouragement and curiosity about each other's remedies, alongside the shared understanding that migraines are deeply personal and what helps one person may not help another.

My #1 remedy is a frozen "slush" or "icee". Typically sold at gas stations. Drink it slowly through a straw and it freezes the migraine.

It honestly works better than Imitrex for me. Even though they are loaded with sugar, they are the one thing I KNOW will work.

None of the migraine meds work for me anymore. I've even been hospitalized 4 times--waste of time and money!!!

Caffeine helps, but I can't have much anymore. That gives me tremors. Feels like my arms are floating away. Peppermint oil on your temples helps. I found a migraine stick that had it and helped, but lost mine.
