I dont necessarily want to use opiates long term but the fibro meds cymbalta, Lyrica, gabapentin all made me totally BLAH and at least the opiates help me stay alert and awake to function. Looking for others views on what is working for them without making them BLAH.

Members shared varied experiences with pain management for fibromyalgia, with many relying on opioids like tramadol, Norco, hydromorphone, and oxycodone after finding that standard fibro medications like Cymbalta, Lyrica, and gabapentin either made them feel too sedated or intensified their brain fog. Several members highlighted alternatives that worked for them, including Low Dose Naltrexone paired with lower doses of gabapentin, medical marijuana which some found dramatically reduced pain days and eliminated costly ER visits, and acupuncture for weekly relief without medication. A recurring theme was the tension between managing quality of life through opioids versus concerns about dependency and worsening pain sensitivity, with members emphasizing that each person's body responds differently and that finding what works often requires trial and error without judgment.

Gabapentin helps me out along with oxyodone and 800 mg of ibuprofen, muscle relaxer and multi vitamin and extra vitamin D. And a gluten free diet works. But i do still get my flare ups

I do not take or have ever taken any Narco for my fibro, i am on Low Dose Naltrexone and Cymbalta, it is the only thing that works for me, i can function most days, Google LDN for Fibromyalgia, there will be a Stanford university study, and many other good articles.

Low Dose Naltrexone, i cannot express how much it has changed my life, i thank my Dr. everytime i see him. You cannot use any narcotic while taking LDN, Google LDN for Fibromyalgia, you will find a Stanford study and other great info. If/ when Cannabis ever gets legalized in Wi. i will be using that too.

Have you tried acupuncture? It did miracles for me. Would go in hardly able to move and a little over an hour later was better and one session would last about a week. So after a session I could go a week without pain meds, but each person is different.
