There's a lot to this so bare with me
So, my GP doesn't want to write me a script for anything. Went to him the other day about being so exhausted. He gave me a script for Provigil but be it was so $$. I found a card for Nuvigil for first month free. Ins won't cover it at all so when I tried to get it filled they wanted preauthorization. I've changed doctors until I got a rheumy that was sympathetic. It's a lot of work. I've been thru some insurance nightmares. U r not alone!
I don't understand why your GP won't work with you to find a medication that helps you. I'm surprised the first medication he would prescribe would be an energy inducing one. Yes, you complained about fatigue but it is pretty common knowledge that chronic pain and lack of restorative sleep contribute to fatigue. Normally they prescribe meds that help with pain and sleep. Keep in mind I am not a medical Dr.s, I'm speaking from my experience as a Fibro patient. I'm really sorry that you are not having luck with your Dr. or Rheumy. I hope your can find someone with better knowledge of Fibro.
Sounds to me like you could use a good anti depressant, have you seen a pain Dr
I go to a Phychiatrist and she helps me with both support s and meds to handle things as they come.. I'm on Cymbalta ..which I couldn't afford at first so she got it covered for me..I pick up my meds at her clinic..
Find a new GP and rheumatologist. It took me a long time and a lot of money but it was worth it. Talk to friends and co-workers to see if they like their doctors. That's how I found my GP, I had to go to 5 different rheumatologists before I found a decent one. Good luck, I know the aggravation of going on appointment after appointment.
