I was treated with injections in the chest for costrocondritis. I was working at my desk and just turned and lifted a huge account book, felt pain shoot through my chest, took my breath. This has been years ago and the lasting effects is still there. The doctor told me to alternate a moist cloth with heat and ice. Hugs for you.
Yes I am gong through the same thing. It only happens when I'm having my flare up and it literally hurts to wear bras.
I have that pain so do my two eldest kids, it's called costrocondritis, the muscle between the ribs flare up, no known reason why? Sometimes over exertion others I just wake up with it, rest, try muscle relaxants...
For a very long time I had been complaining that something is moving in my stomach and I said I am not pregnant and it looks like there's a baby in there kicking and moving around. This happens and cramping under my ribs for a long time. I believe my doc thought I was crazy, although there's a bit of truth to that since I have PTSD as well. I have fibromyalgia and I have been getting this pain for a very very long time now...I even thought I had a hernia and then I had the same feeling under my right rib cage as well. I had Xrays they did not find any hernia. I don't believe it's just muscle spasm. It feels like the muscles are twisting and it does move. It hurts terribly....it's more like cramping up like when you get a charlie horse pain in your leg only worse because it lasts so much longer. When I go to lay down to relax the cramping begins and the pain throws me a bit it's that painful. I scream it's so bad. The only thing I can do is try to massage and press it down, in, and under to get it to stop and that's if my hands are not inflammed feeling on fire and feeling like broken glass under my skin and finger tips terrrible pain from the fibro. Okay so the only thing that can really help muscles under the costals (ribs) is massage, but how many times can I keep doing massage while the pain is so intense and hands in so much pain ? They say excercise is really good for fibro, but I tried to take a yoga class again. I used to go to yoga years ago....anyhow, tried to see if taking yoga could help....no way ! I tried it makes the muscles go into spasm worse with the slightest movement. So they are saying costochondritis....meaning you have inflammation of the cartilage in the costals (ribs). Okay this is going to sound like I don't know what I am saying, but these docs are full of shit. They have no clue at all whatsoever. I thought I had a loose rib too, but its the muscles torsioning (twisting) and in spasm and the pain can last very long or be brief at times. If the docs tell you what it really is and then you figure out that their medicines don't help to heal it only help to descrease the pain but then when they wear off your in more pain then when you started to begin with, which is why people get addicted to their medications because they rather be on the meds then have the pain. They are very fearful that everyone will seek alternative treatments in healing and they cannot profit from that now can they? Drink super beets. I do not sell the product, but it helps with nitric oxygen throughout the body and into the muscles, btw, which the cappillaries are oxygen starved, which is why the muscle cramping and the fibro. It affects the muscles and the nerves. I'm not saying it's a complete healing but it does help curb some of the pain. Perhaps after long term use It will possibly take it away completely. The superbeets are not cheap to purchase at all. Good luck with finding an alternative to help you.
