Members shared their experiences with metallic taste in the mouth, with many reporting it as a constant or recurring symptom that seems unrelated to flares, though some noticed it appearing before their body acts up or during treatment. Several members found relief through products specifically designed for dry mouth, including special toothpastes, mouthwashes, and sprays available at drugstores, while others mentioned that ginger ale and lemon drops can help manage the unpleasant taste. A recurring theme was frustration over the persistent nature of this symptom and how it affects the ability to taste food, with members noting it could be linked to medications, other conditions, or simply part of their chronic illness experience.

I used to have the metallic taste in my mouth but also had dry mouth . After researching realized it was a side effect from the mess .
I started using a toothpaste that is made specifically for dry mouth . They can be expensive but worth it .
You can find them in your local drug store . ... Hope this helps

I use a mouthwash for dry mouth. It works great. Just look for something for dry mouth in toothpaste aisle, have sprays and toothpastes as well. But yes that taste was there as well.

Hi Beth, I did change my eating habits because sodas were giving me really bad breath. I don't have the taste all the time just notice when my body is going to act up. I know it's not my teeth it. It seems to come from the saliva glands. I drink lots of water. But the chemical taste is just strange.
