I am experiencing severe stomach problems. Bloating and either constipation or diarrhoea. Had a really embarrassing problem tonight, was bent over the toilet being sick and my bowel let loose and sorry to be disgusting but it went everywhere. Through my pyjamas and all over the floor.

Has anyone else had these symptoms. Just wanting to know before I make a doctors appointment.

Thanks Donna x

Members rallied around someone experiencing severe stomach problems including bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and embarrassing accidents, with nearly everyone sharing that they have faced similar challenges, often diagnosed as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) that commonly occurs alongside fibromyalgia. Several members offered practical strategies that have helped them, including taking Metamucil to regulate both constipation and diarrhea, drinking kefir for gut health, using natural supplements from drugstores, reducing stress levels, and keeping emergency supplies like absorbent pads at home for unpredictable days. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing they were not alone in these mortifying experiences, the importance of seeing a doctor to rule out other conditions like gastroparesis or infections, and the value of tracking which foods or stressors trigger flare-ups.

I too have had this mortifying experience. Sometimes i don't leave home. One of my past docs set me up with 'Lifestyle' they talk with ur doc, u decide what you want to try, and it ships ALL FREE once a month in discret boxes. I used to get large sanitary pads, small women's(diaper) underwear and chucks!! Those big blue absorbent pads from having children?? It was a wonderful service. Medicaid only I believe.

Have had everything you all talk about. IBS is a real pain in the u know what. I have (cheesed) myself so many times I can't remember. My doc put me on a small dose of Zoloft said the stomach had a small brain like thing that could be calmed down with this med. It worked for me for a time but didn't like the side effects. Since I became disabled my stress level is lower (not working in a high stress job anymore) so the diarrhea has calmed down. And since I am off my pain meds constipation is gone. Have you tried taking Metamucil it can help both problems by adding fiber to bulk up the liquid stool and softening the hard stool sounds crazy but it's true.

I agree on the irritable bowel disease. A lot of times changing your diet will help.

I have IBS. Have had it for as long as I've had Fibro.. which is 40 plus years.. I've had very embarrassing situations.. one at the mall... had to try to leave out the back entrance and have my husband pick me up.. had on white slacks! Need I say more! I'm either constipated or have diarrhea, sometimes really bad.. with stomach cramps. I take natural supplements and they do help me from being constipated. But... if I take too much and have eaten something like spinach or a salad, then I running to the bathroom.
