Members shared mixed experiences and cautions about laser spine surgery and alternative treatments for neck and back pain. Several members warned about Laser Spine Institute being out of network for all insurance, requiring thousands upfront plus travel and hotel costs, while one member raised concerns about how lasers work on curved spines without damaging tissue. Many members described their own journeys with steroid injections, spinal fusions, and physical therapy, with outcomes ranging from complete pain relief to temporary help or no improvement, emphasizing that back surgery should be a last resort due to long recovery times and no guarantees of success.

I had spinal fusion in my lumbar spine in 2000, best thing I ever did. I did well until I tripped and injured my neck in 2013. That resulted in another fusion in my cervical spine C5 - C7. Unfortunately, after many falls, I am back in the cycle of finding an end to the pain, numbness and inability to walk that goes with DDD. I have had 4 steroid injections, 2 worked and 2 didn't. Good luck to you Annette. I hope you are able to find relief.

My husband just had steroid injections in his neck for intense neck and back pain with pain and numbness in left arm. So far he is pain free. It was non invasive and he was able to go back to work the next day. Have you had this or looked into thes? It may work for you and be a shorter recovery time than surgery.
