Leg Weakness
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else experience leg weakness to the point you are unable to walk or have to use a walking aid? What do you do to make it better? Has it gotten to the point that you use or have ever had to use a wheelchair?

I've fallen several times. My legs feel like jelly and just drop out from under me.

I have a walker if I am going to walk too long I use it. I have trouble even walking half a block it really bugs me and I do get weakness in my legs and my arms too. Doctors don't even know or understand. Wheelchairs are ok too but walkers are easier for me. I use public places that provide wheelchairs if I need to look around inside their business.

Yes I have weakness nit just in my legs but also in my arms. On the days it is really bad I stay home. I have used a cane but haven't had to have a wheelchair yet. On the days it is really bad I make sure I have someone home with me at all times. I have also had to be carried to bed a few times because I was unable to walk. The best thing I can say is just go slow and take it easy on the bad days..good luck

@A MyFibroTeam Member I hope swimming helps! I did my PT in a warm water pool and I do think it helped. My best suggestion is start out slow! Keep me updated!

Thank you everyone for all your input! I have never had to use a wheelchair but I do have to use crutches on and off. My legs get weak- and like others said- turn to jello- that was my exact thought the other day! I've also had to be carried due to my legs just not working at all from time to time. Sometimes they just get weak and can't support me. I was going to PT and that's helped but I think the harder I work at my job- the less my legs want to work. Interesting. Thanks again for all the input. It means a lot.
