Yes, I have repeatedly read about thyroid being connected to fibromyalgia for a long time. The main issue is that although the blood has adequate amounts of thyroid hormones, many times they do not get into our cells where needed. However, there are no tests to determine if the hormones are getting into the cells. Most doctors will not go beyond conventional medicine (although they probably know this) and give his patient thyroid medicine when their blood work shows normal. I have found one doctor who also got fibro while in medical school and I get his newsletters. He does tests beyond what conventional doctors do which gives him different results and he has an impressionable number of successful years prescribing hormones to fibro. patients. He has written quite a few books, has fibro. clinics in various parts of the country, sells vitamins geared toward fibro. patients, etc. etc. I am not connected to him in any way. I just believe in his work and ideas. I am one of those persons who have normal thyroid tests, although I have nodules on my thyroid which I have read is sometimes caused by hypothyroid. I wish medical science would hurry up and develop a adequate tests for us fibro. patients
