In the past 2 years I have had: an MRI that was normal, a cortisone injection from my rheumatologist (that didn't help at all), 3 x-ray guided steroid injections (that almost completely took the pain away, but they can't give me anymore), and several rounds of physical therapy (that seems to make it much worse). I have got calcification on the left rota of my shoulder, I am waiting to have the operation to help relieve the pain, and allow me more movement ect...I don't think it's caused by fibromyalgia, but the fibromyalgia doesn't help with the pain.
I have been told I have calcium deposits in my shoulder. I was also told I have impingement syndrome and rotor cuff issues. All I know is I cant get a day that it does not hurt. Been to physio, on pain killers not much help.
My mum doesn't have fibromyalgia and was told she had frozen shoulder syndrome. She was told to have an operation as well but didn't want it. I am not sure what or if the pain has gone away now though, sorry. I just wanted to let you know that I've heard of it as a diagnosis before. I also suffer from really bad shoulder pain and nothing seems to help. I can't take most pain medication either. I hope you find a solution to help ease your pain x
Hope you get good news! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!
Yes. I am having intense shooting pains in my shoulder blade area in my back. I have also been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I have had 6 EMGs over the years. Sick of those. I am also having shooting pains along my rib cage. I just went through a thoracic MRI and am waiting to hear if there are any bad disks in my thoracic area causing this pain. I'm about to ask about burning rib pain and shooting pains in my rib cage too.
