Members rallied around someone newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia who was struggling with rib spasms, with many expressing relief to discover they weren't alone in this painful and isolating symptom. Several members shared strategies that have helped them find relief, including moist heat, muscle relaxers like Flexeril taken up to three times daily, and physically twisting or stretching to release the muscle spasm. A recurring theme was the validation and comfort of being understood by others who know the struggle, with members encouraging each other not to apologize and reminding one another that they're navigating this journey together.

The only thing that has ever helped me is moist heat and it calms my down enough so I can breath normal for awhile.

I often have to twist myself around to release the muscle for many minutes to make it let go. It sometimes helps.
