I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last June, although I've been experiencing the symptoms for the past 3 years. My specific question is around my chronic fatigue and tiredness
I don't tend to have an issue with falling asleep, I'm typically will sleep from 7-9 hrs a night. Most nights are solid and undisturbed, but I do experience chronic night sweats and some pain in my right leg. But for the most part I sleep throughout the night unawakened. My issue is that when I wake I am truly exhausted… read more

Members deeply validated the experience of waking up exhausted despite sleeping 7-9 hours per night, describing it as a hallmark of fibromyalgia where the body never reaches restorative sleep and feels as though it's constantly working out. Several members shared strategies that have helped them manage the crushing fatigue, including Wellbutrin for energy, Corevalen Ribose supplements, pain medications like Ultram and oxycodone, and Mag-Key supplements for sleep quality. A recurring theme was that while pain can often be managed, the relentless exhaustion is the most difficult symptom to live with, leaving many feeling as tired upon waking as if they hadn't slept at all.

That's what Fibromyalgia does, keeps you from the restorative part of sleep so you don't feel refreshed when you wake up, no matter how long you sleep. My biggest issue with the fibro is the constant exhaustion. I can handle the pain most days, but being this tired everyday is exhausting. I wish you the best!!

I totally agree. I never seem to feel rested even if I have "slept". My present doc does not believe in fibro and says I don't have chronic fatigue. I have read about it but what are your views, is it just fibro and I have to get used to it? How do they test for cf? I have had menopause many years ago but I have had night sweats then feel cold all through the night. Thanks

Thank you Laura. I wasn't sure if anyone else experienced it the same way I do. I feel the same way. The pain I can handle and get through, its the exhaustion that becomes overbearing.

Unlike you I don't get a good night sleep, even when I do get a 6hour sleep I awake more tired then I go to bed. I have tried a number of different sleep meds but with no help. My Dr who is seeing me till mine gets back told me to try Mag-Key supplement.
