Migraine
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

So the other day I had one of the worst migraines Ive ever had. The only thing different about this migraine was that my right arm went numb for about 15 minutes and my head felt heavy and my speech was hard to get out almost slured. I took Excedrin Migraine but it did nothing. The only thing that relieved it was a nap. Has anybody else had these weird symptoms?

When your speech slurs and your arm goes numb with a severe headache, that's time for a trip to the ER. That could be a stroke! Never play around with that.

Over the counter pain meds cause rebound headaches. They are the same ingredients. They just put Migraine on it and try to fool people. I have had migraines for at least 51 years. I have tried everything. Imitrex is all that works. And the Monster Migraines send me to the ER. Weather and no sleep are my worst triggers. Of course the Fibro/Migraine/High blood pressure are all one big combo.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I'm glad the did more that just say migraine. I'd see if you can pust the MRI before your insurance runs out. Most hospitals will take payment plans. I wouldn't worry so much except for the speech slurring concerns me. My grandfather was diagnosed "migraine" at the ER and was released. Within a couple of hours he had a massive stroke that killed him. So, I encourage you to please follow up on this before the insurance runs out. It may be over kill but better safe than sorry. It was absolutely an atypical migraine, slurred speech is not the common symptom. Hope today will be a low pain day for you. Hugs

Chronic migraines for years. However, when your speech is slurred, etc... you need to go to the ER immediately and make sure it is a migraine and NOT a stroke. My dad had his first stroke at 58 so I really hope if this happens again you will go to the ER. You need to be sure your doctor is aware of this episode also. :)
