Comfort is not usually a word surrounding Fibromyalgia sufferers. But I have to tell you, I'm so happy that I have come up with this idea. Some of you may have already known this trick and maybe I'm the last one to know. But at a risk of sounding ridiculous, here it goes. I have suffered with the pain of fibromyalgia along with the rest of you. I must say, even wearing clothes gets painful at times. I especially dislike wearing shorts or jeans or skirts. Basically anything around my… read more

A Hammer In My For Head When I Cough

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Gloucester, UK

So when I cough especially when I am getting a terrible pain like a hammer hitting the inside of my skull. It happens with bending forward and sneezing but no where near as bad. I have a hospital appointment... In August!!! 😱 I've tried all the sinus stuff including 4 litres of salt water... Nothing helps. I am having surgery Monday and I'm terrified how bad it'll feel afterwards. The general is scaring the shit out of me as it is as it takes me months to recover from it x

Anyone Have Tense Jaw Muscles.

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Ottawa, ON

Have pain when I open my mouth too wide or when I'm eating certain foods. My dentist told me that I probably clench my teeth when I'm sleeiping or when I'm stressed. He has recommended I see a physiotherapist who specializes in this type of problem. I'm a bit weary. Do not want to end up with more pain due to my fibro.

Same for me! Apparently, I have essentially no enamel left on the tops of my teeth from grinding which leads to even more sensitivity. Several years ago my dentist recommended I get a mouth guard but… read more

Mattress

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Girard, OH

I have so much pain at night and no matter how I try to sleep some part of my body is hurting. My shoulders and my hips will hurt bad on the side I am sleeping on. I also have a lot of pain in my legs below my knees and my foot. My mattress is really old and wanting to get a new one. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good mattress that would help with the pain that doesn't cost a fortune. My neck always is hurting too if anyone knows a good type of pillow.

I use a bolster cushion and sleep with it tucked under all my bits. It relieves my hip pain and helps to settle my stomach. I have a memory foam mattress and it is horrible, you get stuck in it. A… read more

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Altrincham, UK

Since a young age I have had that body type where you can eat what ever you would like and not put any weight on but Recently I have put on some weight which I think is from my medication. I was wondering if anyone has a way too loose weight quickly without exercise as every time I do exercise I get in a large amounts of pain. Has anyone tried tablets? Shakes? Meal replacement?

A MyFibroTeam Member

I too used to be able to do that, pre-fibro. I had gained weight from the medication (about 10 pounds). I have recently lost it, just from being sick. I have chronic nausea. I am not sure if there is… read more
