We live on a farm, so our neighbors are far and few between. We are members of a church that has a lot of activities and women's groups that are always doing something. I miss out on most of it due to fibromyalgia. It is just easier to stay home. I know the pain I am going to face when I get home.

Feeling excluded from your community or neighbourhood is something many people with fibromyalgia can relate to. The unpredictable nature of fibromyalgia β€” with its pain, fatigue, and flares β€” can make it really hard to participate in social activities, which can lead to feelings of isolation.

Feeling excluded from your community or neighbourhood is something many people with fibromyalgia can relate to. The unpredictable nature of fibromyalgia β€” with its pain, fatigue, and flares β€” can make it really hard to participate in social activities, which can lead to feelings of isolation.

While there isn't a specific count of how many MyFibroTeam members feel this way, it's a very commonly shared experience on the community feed. Many members have opened up about feeling misunderstood or left out because others can't always see or understand their pain.

A few things that members have found helpful include:

- Being open with close neighbours or community members about fibromyalgia
- Choosing low-energy social activities that don't trigger flares
- Connecting with others online who truly "get it"
- Being kind to yourself on the days when participation just isn't possible

You're definitely not alone in this feeling. Reaching out and sharing your experience β€” just like you're doing now β€” is a brave and meaningful step. πŸ’™

I have recently had visitors staying and we were going out and walking at least (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) steps every dayandi was in pain and exhausted but I still did it because by doing it helps me with my mental state as well as co tinues to improve my condition. I have been encouraged to continue living your life and of giving into itwhich has helped me improve over the last 10-15 years since being diagnosed Andover the last 5 years I have infact improved and not got worse because of pushing myself to be active. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and walk everyday. Yes I have a lot of issues particularly with sleeping, ringing in my ears at night and itchiness but I just keep going. I will not give In.

I make myself get out. I get depressed if I stay in most of the time. I do have days I isolate I feel bad.. I have found that I operate with a certain amount of pain most times. So if I have to go somewhere I tough it out or I cancel.
