I used it years ago. It is the most sedating thing. I took it at night and then the next day I was incapacitated all day. I was supposed to take it twice a day but I wouldn't dare because taking it once at night was too much. At least with pain I could function a little bit. But taking Sevilla I could not do a thing. So it made me worse. It does not relieve your pain it only sedates you.

Savella (milnacipran) is one of the FDA-approved medications specifically for fibromyalgia. It belongs to a class of antidepressants called SNRIs (serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors), which work by adjusting the balance of brain chemicals that carry nerve signals.

It's often considered as a first-line treatment, particularly for those dealing with severe fatigue or depression alongside fibromyalgia pain. Common side effects to be aware of include:

- Drowsiness
- Sexual dysfunction (especially in the first few weeks or months)

These side effects may ease over time, but it's worth discussing them with your doctor if they become bothersome. While there aren't specific MyFibroTeam member stories available here about Savella, many members do share their medication experiences on the community feed β€” it can be a great place to read firsthand accounts from others who've tried it.

As always, what works well for one person may not work the same for another, so keeping an open conversation with your doctor about how it's affecting you is really important. πŸ’™
