@A MyFibroTeam Member Thanks for your reply to what I wrote. I'm sorry I don't have a better understanding of how biologics work. But what I do know is that in an autoimmune disease, the immune system is overly active. It attacks what it is not supposed to. Medications like Tremyfy and Skyrizi can stop that unwanted process. While there is still so much progress to be made, these kinds of treatments are so very helpful to many people.

While working that out, your daughter can certainly try out reducing histamine to see if that helps with fibromyalgia. One blog/social media account I really have enjoyed is Through the Fibro Fog. It is written by a woman who creates low histamine recipes. Another aspect is to have fragrance free cleaning products, laundry detergents, and personal care products.

In terms of treatment for ME/CFS I'm sure you are more knowledgeable than I am but everything I personally have learned so far points to pacing. Everything takes energy: thinking, feeling, talking, listening, moving, eating, digesting, daily care -- everything. Radically embracing pacing including "aggressive rest" or "radical rest" as it can be called is the biggest part of treatment and it is so easy to get wrong. Bateman Horn center is an evidenced based bastion of best practices in a sea of misinformation and harmful advice on the internet.

Sorry to learn of your daughter’s reaction. I saw your post in my email and got online to weigh in as I take biological drugs for RA. Currently taking the bio similar to Humira since January when insurance removed Humira from the formulary.

I had fibromyalgia but no longer. Biologicals are very helpful for RA but I know from experience not to take a biological when my body is fighting a cold, flu or painful rash as the biological suppresses our immune systems, causing all to worsen. This may have been the problem for your daughter.

Saying a prayer your daughter responds to helpful remedies TBD so she’s back feeling good again. As FYI, I have taken a number of different types of biological drugs for years and have found they do far more good than bad. I have been able to live a normal life and get off of other harmful drugs as a result. While I wish I didn’t need these bc drugs have downstream issues, I am thankful they exist. Hope this helps somehow.

Biologic Injections because they are made from living cells they treat a large variety of illnesses. From autoimmune asthma bones liver problems and many more cancer so on.
Roughly off the top of my head I remember reading a health survey on this subject and out of 1000 people over 700 had side effects.
For osteopathy many reported added pain, stomach issues, extreme fatigue, headaches, and vomiting. You could get a second opinion yet the drug itself stays the same.
It can also lower the immune system. Causing other illness to occur. So with this type of medication there is much to think about. Once again I am so sorry you are going through this. Your daughter is in my prayers ❤️🌷🌼🙏🏻 Love Peps

Absolutely, your daughter's rheumatologist will want to keep trying as many patients do have to try quite a few biologics until they find one that works for them. Your rheumatologist's hope and goal for your daughter is remission from PsA.

If she needs to take a break and then maybe even get a second opinion, that's understandable.
