My nan and grandad were deeply religious and they were the most loving and best people on this planet. When they passed away I lost all faith, everything. It wasn't until my son started with epilepsy that I started to regain some faith/spirituality again. Seeing him die two times and having to watch him being brought back to life was one of the hardest things I have had to witness. And then it wasn't until recently (late last year) that I started to regain my faith more and more as I needed to have something/somewhere to turn to for me getting my thoughts out, praying for people and just asking to keep my family safe. I'm happy now. I've had a lot of stress recently and it has got me through it. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia before any of this happened. I've learned more about my condition because of this group and I feel I handle it better now. You could say faith/spirituality keeps me going. Xxx

Thanks to all for your responses. It feels good to talk about and hear about everyone's experiences.

So about 9 months after having a spiritual experience that seemed to be the start of my symptoms, my wife attended a therapy conference where someone discussed kundalini awakenings. She came home and said this sounds a lot like what you are experienceing.

The morning after this experience I woke up on fire. It felt like my nervous system went from 110 current to 220 and my wiring was not able to handle the load. I went from being a devout athiest to believing in God but I was completely overwhelmed with energy trying to flow through my body and there seemed to be an infinate amount of blockages and resistance.

I had struggled with severe depression and anxiety leading up to this and my thinking and beliefs were completely distorted.

I worked in corporate America in IT and ran projects. I basically faked my way through each day.

So now I'm dealing with pain all over body specifically in my sacrum and head back then. Its moved all through my body over the years through what I now understand to be the Chakra system and the Asians call this energy Kundalini. It basically reteaches you how to think and purifies you mind and body. In AA they call it stinkin thinkin. I have several alcoholic family members and attend al-anon meetings. The 13 steps have been incredibly helpful.

It seems to take years to unlearn all the crud we believes and were taught.

So I feel this energy we experiences is really reteaching us how to be loving beings and upgrading our nervous systems but its really difficult.

Going to wrap this up. Been typing a while. So that's the beginning of my story. It seems we need to live slower more contemplative lives and unlearn a lot of stuff to align with this energy.

Thanks for listening

Bob

Joanne I too am an empath. Has being an empath caused you any troubles throughout your life?

That sounds brilliant. I can definitely resonate. I’m a spiritual healer, empath and tarot reader. I have journey that would take years to tell. That or I’m a good talker xxx
