I sleep at night and wake up anywhere from 1-3 times per night. I don’t think I am getting a restful’s night sleep.

Members responding to the question about tiredness all day overwhelmingly agreed that poor, unrestorative sleep is one of the most frustrating parts of living with fibromyalgia. Several members shared what has helped them, including gabapentin, amitriptyline, mood stabilizers, magnesium, electrolytes, matcha, and digestive enzymes recommended by a nutritionist who also has fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was that fatigue often has many layered causes, from hormonal changes to joint pain to sleep disruptions, and many members found comfort in knowing they are not alone in this struggle.

Lore, I don’t remember reading anywhere on here, who HASN’t mentioned sleeping problems.
This certainly isn’t helpful-but we’re a LARGE community… I’m glad for any sleep, though I wonder if it’s rest - not just sleep.

Waking up multiple times a night and feeling unrefreshed is incredibly common with fibromyalgia — you are definitely not alone in this. In fact, studies suggest that up to 9 in 10 people with fibromyalgia experience poor or unrestorative sleep. Many MyFibroTeam members describe feeling exhausted no matter how many hours they spend in bed.

Sleep problems with fibromyalgia aren't just about quantity — it's about quality. Research shows that deep, restorative sleep is frequently interrupted by bursts of brain activity, meaning the body never fully recovers overnight. There are a few reasons why fibromyalgia disrupts sleep so much:

- Brain overload — Constant pain signals can overwhelm the brain, making deep sleep harder to reach
- Melatonin disruption — Fibromyalgia can interfere with melatonin production, throwing off your natural sleep-wake cycle
- Muscle tension — Muscles don't fully relax, which keeps the body from truly resting
- Central nervous system activity — Increased immune cell activation can contribute to both poor sleep and fatigue

This can create a frustrating cycle where poor sleep increases pain, and increased pain makes sleep even harder. It's worth speaking with your healthcare team about your sleep disruptions. They may recommend a sleep study to rule out any treatable underlying causes. Addressing sleep quality can make a meaningful difference in daytime fatigue and overall wellbeing.

Hi well matcha from tenishi chocolate favour it's yum there are other flavours I have half cup before breakfast then another half mid afternoon I take mineral resources international elete electrolytes and metagenic muscle ease powder drink that has magnesium and b vitamins and I drink that throughout the day pure encapsulation digestive enzymes because if your body isn't absorbing nutrients from your food that can lead to fatigue too and pure encapsulation reservatrol to help inflammation they are from the natural dispensary they are quite expensive but they are premium brands it has definitely helped me a lot but I guess it helps having a nutritionist who also has fibromyalgia and she really gets me I hope this helps♥️

I know how you feel I think for me debilitating fatigue is the worse part of this I have been seeing a nutritionist who recommended supplements and matcha to help with more energy but I find when my activity levels are higher or have a lot of stress I am falling asleep again but having said that I do feel I am having restorative sleep because since the supplements I am waking refreshed I don't know if that could help♥️
