Is there anyone on this site that use Muscle relaxers as part of there regimen? If so, what is it? Dosage, how often and if you experience any side effects from using them. Lastly how long have you been taking them?

Oh my Lord!!!! Donโ€™t even get me started on this one!!!! I would use EXTREME CAUTION when using this muscle relaxer! First off, I am only ONE PERSON, so donโ€™t take my experiences as fact, but I would have a good talk with your doctor about potential side effects! It also appears that Jodi takes a very small dose of Flexeril, unlike me who took it three times a day. I was taking it for RA in my hands, although when I went back to my Arthritis Doctor (Rheumatologist) months after I had to go off the Flexeril and reported all the side effects that landed me in the ER, they told me they never said I had RA!!! Maybe just look up the side-effects on the clinical site, Mayo Clinic, and I also like the Cleavland Clinic. Again, I am not saying you will get any of the side effects I got because I have an extreme sensitivity to ALL meds. ( If there is a side effects, even if it is rare, I am going to get it!), but I think it is important to know the potential side effects of all the meds. We are taking, because the doctors rarely do this anymore!

im asking as i was taking generic flexeril half 5mg in the evening for like 2 months for what started as sleep. It ended helping my body to relax. However, I noticed I started having bladder retention issues. I originally thought it was endometriosis had gotten bad again. Then I realized after research that it could be the muscle relaxer. So I stopped. Thankfully i had an acupuncture appointment within 2 days. It helped with the withdrawal. I also notice that my bladder is going back to normal, Thankfully. My body on the hand is back to pre muscle relaxer regime. I had finally had a quality of life that was pretty good. I am now wondering if i can try taking it differently, like every other day to see if my bladder will react differently ๐Ÿค”. ergo the question, if anyone had any experiences that may be similar.

There are so many to try. I think I do best with the older stuff tho. Make sure you read the warnings. Some can be addictive, and only you can weigh the pros and cons for that. Can't really go by dose for each individual either because it's based off the individual body weight and history.
Take me for example, what it takes to get my stuff to chill could kill some people the same size.

I have been using Flexeril for many years 5mg at first at bedtime or rainy cold days. But I don't take when driving long distance it use to make me sleepy. This past year almost everyday take one then a half hours later if needed. So basically 1-2 a day.

I used to take methocarbamol and found it helpful for a while til it became problematic.

Turns out if you have hyper mobility, muscle relaxers are not a good fit. This is actually how I discovered I was hypermobile.
So now I rely on myofascial release, which works well for me and I think better. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hope you find something that works for you. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›
