Members shared creative and practical strategies for finding daily motivation to move despite chronic pain and fatigue, with many emphasizing the power of working with their body's natural rhythms rather than against them. Several members highlighted the importance of building sustainable habits through small actions like morning stretching routines, seated exercises with a coffee reward, 10-minute gardening sessions, journaling to reduce overwhelm, and habit stacking new movements into existing routines like bathroom breaks or household chores. A recurring theme was using music, podcasts, or worship as mood boosters to make movement more enjoyable, while others found structure and accountability through daily planners, understanding that motivation follows action rather than preceding it, and giving themselves grace when they couldn't complete everything on their list.

You may find reading about motivation useful. For instance, motivation doesn’t actually start until after you do. 🤯

That’s why momentum and habit stacking helps so much more than waiting for something fleeting like inspiration to strike.

Learning about this helped me a lot. 💛🤷‍♀️

I have been using my daily planner as a journal also. So I journal in morning, then write down things to do, appointments etc. does not mean I can do things but good to write down.
My list is take cats for a walk, work 10 minutes on my quilt and 10 minutes outside to garden.
I do find the journal stops me from being overwhelmed.

If you are having issues with myofascial tension, I’d limit the caffeine. Caffeine restricts and dehydrates fascia, unfortunately.

But you know, asides from just knowing motivation won’t just strike, sometimes I put on some music to get me moving. Occasionally even a podcast if the host is upbeat and motivating!
