My doctor is referring me to a chiropodist to find out exactly what this sensation is all about but it is so uncomfortable. My feet sting and I get shooting pain from my big toe to my ankle. I'm at my wits end with it now. But as always you beautiful people keep smiling and chin up, it could be worse, I could be walking on nails !!!!

Members responded to someone experiencing painful sandy or pebble-like sensations in their feet, with many sharing similar experiences ranging from plantar fasciitis and Morton's neuroma to neuropathy that causes stinging, burning, and numbness. Several members offered practical strategies for relief, including cold water soaks or ice packs, compression socks, aloe gel with soft socks, trigger point release in foot muscles, and medications like Lyrica, while strongly encouraging an MRI and neurologist referral to rule out nerve compression or other underlying causes. A recurring theme was the frustration of distinguishing fibromyalgia symptoms from separate conditions, with some members choosing to accept symptoms as part of fibro to avoid exhausting themselves with endless medical chases, while others advocated for thorough investigation of anything that significantly impacts daily movement or quality of life.

I apply aloe gel and then put on fuzzy, soft socks. It's very soothing.

I have no idea when I will.see a specialist I just know there is a long wait. And I have compression socks and to be honest they don't work. I will try the cold foot bath and see how that works. Thank you all for your advice it's much appreciated xx

@A MyFibroTeam Member You could have a compressed nerve or nerves. I would try to get them to send you for an mri scan to make sure there is nothing else gone. To me it sounds like more than fibromyalgia i could be wrong i hope you manage to get a scan!

@A MyFibroTeam Member I hope you don’t think I was being dismissive or minimizing what you are going through. I think after a while you just get frustrated and sick of doctors. Everything you get checked out comes with no answers except it’s a fibromyalgia symptom. It certainly never hurts to get things checked, and there are some medications that can help with the neuropathy. Incidentally, my Dad has fibromyalgia and he can no longer feel his feet. They are completely numb. He is on Lyrica, which hasn’t helped his feet but stopped his hands from going completely numb as they were starting to head that way. This condition is ridiculous. It literally effects every part of the body!

What you are feeling may be the result of neuropathy! Talk to your doctor about a referral to a good neurologist!
