I had a really bad flareup the other day, and even though my husband was very sleepy, I woke him up and asked him to take me to the beach, which is about 26 minutes drive away. As soon as we reached the parking lot infront of the beach, I felt much better. Then I walked barefoot on the sand for a few minutes. But as soon as we got back home, I started feeling sick again. I don’t know if my life will be different if I lived by the beach. But I’d to know if anyone has experienced living by the… read more

Members warmly encouraged someone considering moving to the beach after experiencing significant fibromyalgia relief during beach visits, with many sharing that proximity to water brings them comfort and reduces pain, though acknowledging environmental factors like humidity, weather changes, and local pests are important considerations. Several members described their own connections to nature, whether beaches, forests, or water in general, noting that being in places they love helps them focus less on their symptoms, with one member sharing that walking along the shore with wet feet provided pain relief lasting a day and a half. A recurring theme was trusting one's heart and gut instincts while also being realistic about trade-offs, with encouragement to talk it through with loved ones and remember that even if moving feels daunting, exploring what brings relief and joy is worth considering.

When I walk on the beach here, right along the shore getting my feet wet… I feel a lot better with my pain for about a day and a half afterwards. How long did you walk on the beach….were you getting your feet wet?

I take great joy from walking in the woods or forests. I love hearing the birds and different noises, I like hearing the tree’s creek in the wind and on a windy day I love the whistling through the trees. I love the smell of freshness and the sun breaking through the gaps between the branches. I love the streams that often flow through the ravine. I could park my bum at the foot of a large tree and spend ages grounding myself to the sounds of the forest. I have always loved trees, maybe I’m a bit of a Druid at heart. I also love the beaches the sea and I admit to being a bit of a sun worshiper. Is it nature or is it life I love 🥰 who knows but as long as I’m alive that’ll do for me.
See you later tree dweller’s.

💞 I live on a island surrounded by beaches, I do enjoy a walk on the beach. I think maybe when we are somewhere we love to be with nature for me at least I don't think about how I'm feeling. When I get home and have done my quota for the day I feel it. I'm so used to feeling this way I never know if I have a bug or a cold. I put it down to fibro. Hope you feel better soon and this sickness passes sweetheart ❤️💞 Love Peps xxxxx

@A MyFibroTeam Member, thank you! Yes, we all need the good and bad to consider. I remember visiting my friend in Florida and she just bought a brand new model
home with an infinity pool. but her kids would not use the pool much because of the mosquitoes. So considering all the little things as well is important.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, the water was too cold to get my feet wet. But just walking on the sand was already enough for me. I was on the sand for good 30 minutes, then another 30 to 40 minutes around the area. I was with my husband and he needed to rush back home to finish his work. He had midnight deadline. Although he did not rush me, I just kept that in mind and made sure we went home on time.
