Members responded with understanding to the question about whether fibromyalgia causes severe exhaustion and lack of motivation, with the overwhelming consensus being yes, and that symptoms often worsen over time. Several members shared personal experiences of going from highly active lifestyles to struggling with daily tasks, noting that flares can alternate between intense pain and complete fatigue from day to day. A recurring theme was the importance of not fighting your body, prioritizing rest and sleep, and releasing guilt around low motivation, as the body is simply asking you to slow down.

I used to be hyperactive i done physical jobs heavy lifting all day on my feet all day I done loads of overtime. I would go on nights out 3 nights a week and would dance until the place would close and also walk round the shops twice a week! Now I struggle to do anything sadly. Just remember its totally normal for people with fm so if your feeling bad for having no motivation don't because your body is trying to tell you to slow down or stop. Make sure you get plenty of good quality rest and sleep. ❤️

@A MyFibroTeam Member A flare up can make you feel totally exhausted its horrible I think maybe your noticing the symptom that is worst on that day. I normally get both pain and exhausted together but I do have other issues that also cause me pain. Make sure you get some good quality sleep and rest. I hope you feel better soon. ❤️

My flare-up this time goes from pain one day to complete fatigue the next day. I always have pain and fatigue, it just depends on which one will be worse than the other daily.
