Yes I actually have it now. I call it my white noise that way it's reassuringly relaxing đđ
@A MyFibroTeam Member Yes, I am learning that I do need to be very careful about side effects from medication. The paradoxical reaction thing is interesting. I will look into it. I have read online that the medication I am on can indirectly impact tinnitus by raising blood pressure. Sorry if I already mentioned that somewhere, I probably did since I have talked about it several times on this site. Both the urologist and my nurse practitioner say that it should not have any impact on tinnitus. I saw my nurse practitioner just yesterday and mentioned how the urologist said it would not have an impact, yet I am finding that it does and have read about the blood pressure thing. She seems to think it's still unlikely that it is causing any sort of changes in my tinnitus. And my blood pressure is fine as usual. I actually tend to be on the low side for blood pressure, but it is fine as it is not dangerously low, and I do not have dizziness or anything from it. Not sure if it has gone up at all since the medication but it is still fine. I don't feel like nurse is brushing me off, because she is willing to help me investigate this further if I would like to. For now, though, we have too many other things to deal with lol. I will come back to it at another point in the near future. I used to work at a hearing aid clinic, so I am quite familiar with people who have hearing loss and also have tinnitus. I have had my hearing tested several times and do not have hearing loss. But, I recently listen to a podcast about people who have tinnitus without hearing loss. Research is showing that it's quite likely that they do have some hearing loss in very low tones that are not commonly tested. I found that very interesting.
It's there most of the time, it's like the fridge running when it's turned off suddenly you think wow its quiet.
Mine very rarely goes but on the occasion it has its quite amusing as I'm wondering what is missing. It's part of me now. Just like the fibro and everything else in my body that has changed since I've aged.
I'm still breathing đ that's a plus. I'm listening to 'Tibetan book of the dead"
Extremely relaxing book.
I guess I should get some sleep it's nearly 1am here.
Hope you find some answers and some peace

I too have tinnitus and for about 30 years. It's gotten significantly worse since last year and hearing loss in left ear. The tinnitus is constant.but worse when I am in extreme pain like with my chronic migraines and right.now I'm having a fibro flare so.its going off. For years I chalked it.up.to all.the rock and heavy metal concerts i went to.as a teen.and I'm sure some of it is. But it's a symptom of migraine

Mine didnât get a little better until I got hearing aids. Come to find out I lost hearing a little bit for me. It was not being able to make out the words in groups. I find I donât notice the Tinnitus as much with the hearing aids. But sometimes itâs really loud, if I have loud music on or the TV is too loud it will make it worse.
Thatâs interesting that since youâve had overactive bladder, that your tenants is worse. We find that if I canât sleep at night, it gets worse. Or if Iâm really tired. So I would think that being ill would affect it too.
For me ,it happened after I was on a lot of IV antibiotics ,when I had the combination of influenza A, pneumonia ,and a Superbug in the hospital for 10 days.
Why donât you go online and look on drugs.com and see what some of the side effects are. Sometimes the doctors will tell you that thatâs not a side effect because it may not be one of the major side effects. And you know how sensitive we are to medication and things. Once they gave me Zoloft, which is supposed to help with pain with fibromyalgia ,and others take it that have anxiety. Well, as soon as I took the first pill, I had a lot of anxiety âŠwhich was an opposite reaction. When I told the doctor ,he said oh thatâs not a side effect! I said ,well I went to the bookstore, and looked it up . And anxiety was the first side effect they listed, because they were in alphabetical order. He just looked at me like I had two heads. But I finally a doctor told me that I have âparadoxical reactionâ to a lot of medicationâs. Which is the opposite effect of the medicine.
Always have a doctor clean out your ears.
Hope this helps. Sorry I wrote so much.đ©·đŠ Victoria
