My neurologist refuses to treat my fibromyalgia because he didn’t diagnose it, my PCP did, and wants to put me through numerous (painful) tests to try and diagnose me with something else?? Saying he can’t treat my nerve pain until he knows what it is, but at the end of the day its probably the fibromyalgia, and he is forcing me into months of pain while i wait for these expensive procedures that hurt to be performed, likely just to tell me “oh well nope, nothing found there”. I have met doctors who think they are God. The neurologist you describe sounds like a terrible doctor who has forgotten about the caring part of his profession. Go back to your PCP and start from scratch. Ask questions and keep digging. God bless you
My doctor didn’t know much about fibro, one day he said something that was wrong and I loudly corrected him. I’m happy to say that he got himself up to speed!

I have been changing doctors constantly. I can feel your pain, this attitude of the doctor hurts on more than one level I think.
As a person and as a patient. Also trust is lost in believing the doctor has our best interest in his/her mind.
I felt let down many times. Now I dith doctors with more ease. Unfortunately we will nrver get the lost time and resources back. Still searching for a good specialist....
Rheumatology is the specialty that treats fibromyalgia. If I were you I would go see a rheumatologist.
