It's so difficult and frustrating to have not only challenges with fatigue but fluctuating energy levels. I wish I knew exactly why this happens. But I believe it is related to our chronic illness contributing to neuroinflammation. This causes problems in our cells which make energy: our mitochondria are the little energy makers.
I think the very process that creates energy is disabled. Sometimes it's very disabled and other times it functions better. If we can just do our best to take it in stride and cope with whatever energy we have, I think that's better than trying to push through.
Meantime each day we do our best to get enough deep sleep, eat well, drink enough water, and cultivate as good of an attitude as we can: all this helps with reducing inflammation. There is so much I don't know and I may have gotten things wrong but this is my best understanding at this point.

I explain it this way to my family: Imagine if your smart phone is broken but it still works. When you charge the phone, sometimes it goes to 30% sometimes much higher. Sometimes the charge gets used up almost immediately, sometimes the charge lasts longer.
I wanted to add: I think we all should reach out and get check ups regularly including labs done. I think all too often we get so used to various symptoms that we attribute them all to having a condition like fibromyalgia. But it could be that we are low in vitamin d, b12, or ferritin and we just don't know. Getting things like that addressed could help us so worth keeping in mind. 🤗
I started cooking dinner in the morning and reheating it at night when son was a baby, because I was too knackered to do anything else when it got to dinner time and I still do it
The energy drop has just started now my body has got used to the menopause, so I don’t know how or when it happens yet, although I did get stressed over parking yesterday (Tesco’s got snarled up because some numpties were going out the entrances) and I worried about collecting my son late, but thankfully he was fine. He’s SEND and they can find it difficult to handle if something is not how they think it is.
I’ve had a few late nights in a row, so I was wondering if it could be that. When I cook, I make home made, but hubby is the main cook and largely heats things up and adds veggies. Making sure I have drunk enough water is next on my list of things to change.
I often have a drop of energy in the afternoon. That's why I plan my errands and other things for the morning. It used to be really bad...to the point where I felt drugged but it isn't as bad as it used to be and I don't know why. But it happened yesterday. I just crawled upstairs and rested. I don't have to sleep, I just need to rest my body.
