Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2012 . I am 73 and am almost housebound and my condition is a real problem 😪 about 95 percent of the time.

I haven’t heard of that. I’ve been on different drugs which never worked. Flexeril and occasional narcotic is ONLY thing that knocks it. Medical people don’t want to hear this BUT its true for me. I’m an old nurse too!

How can you access Tonmya (cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride) in the UK for fibromyalgia?

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling so much with fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, Tonmya was just approved by the FDA in August 2025, which means it's currently only available in the United States. The FDA approval doesn't extend to the UK.

For Tonmya to become available in the UK, it would need separate approval from the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This process typically takes additional time after US approval, and there's no guarantee when or if it will be approved for use in the UK.

Your best next steps would be to:
- Speak with your GP or rheumatologist about current fibromyalgia treatment options available in the UK
- Ask if they're aware of any clinical trials for Tonmya or similar medications in the UK
- Discuss whether other muscle relaxants or treatments might help improve your symptoms

It's understandable to feel frustrated when a promising new treatment isn't immediately accessible. Your healthcare provider can work with you to explore what options might help reduce your symptoms and improve your quality of life right now.

I’m also 73. I’m having more flareups and I don’t get out as much as I used to.🥰🙌🙏🏻💝
